Change IMG StructureLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can change IMG structures at any time. You can:

  • Add Node

  • Delete Node

  • Edit Node

  • Move Nodes in The IMG Structure

  • Copy nodes from the clipboard.

Prerequisites

You have already created one or more IMG structures.

Procedure
  1. Select a structure in your Favorites.

  2. Choose the original language of the structure.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation path IMG Structure Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path or the Start of the navigation path Change Next navigation step IMG Structure End of the navigation path pushbutton.

Add Node

You can add structure nodes and IMG activities to the existing structure. Proceed as described under Create IMG Structure.

Delete Node

  1. Position the cursor on the node which you want to delete from the structure.

    To delete several nodes at the same time, position the cursor on each node and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Nodes Next navigation step Select End of the navigation path.

    Note

    If you delete a structure node, (documentation class CHAP), all its subnodes in the structure are also deleted.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Nodes Next navigation step Delete End of the navigation path or Delete (Selected) Nodes.

    The selected nodes are deleted from the structure without confirmation.

Edit Node

  1. Position the cursor on a node and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Nodes Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path or Change Nodes.

  2. You can edit structure node text or document, and IMG activity name, document, attributes or maintenance object.

  3. Save the IMG activity changes with IMG Activity Save.

Move Nodes in The IMG Structure

  1. Choose a structure node which you want to move.

    Note

    If you copy a structure node, (documentation class CHAP), all its subnodes are also moved.

    To move several nodes at the same time, keep the CTRL key pressed while you select the nodes.

  2. Drag the selected structure nodes to the new position in the IMG structure, keeping the left-hand mouse key pressed.

    When you release the mouse key, you go to the How to Insert? dialog box, with the following options:

    • At the Same Level

    • As Subnode

  3. Choose an entry.

Copy Nodes from The Clipboard

This function copies structure nodes onto the clipboard and from there to another location in the structure. The difference to moving is that the nodes are copied not moved.

To copy nodes onto the clipboard:

  1. Position the cursor on the node which you want to copy and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Nodes Next navigation step Select End of the navigation path.

    Note

    If you copy a structure node, (documentation class CHAP), all its subnodes are also copied.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Clipboard Next navigation step Save Selected Node End of the navigation path.

    The selected nodes are exported to the clipboard but also remain in their original position in the IMG structure.

  3. Position the cursor on the node under which you want to insert the node from the clipboard.

  4. Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Clipboard Next navigation step Insert Next navigation step At Same Level or As Subnode End of the navigation path.

    The selected nodes are copied from the clipboard to the selected position in the IMG structure.
