Create IMG ActivityLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have opened an IMG structure in change mode.

An IMG activity can only be inserted below a structure node, or at the same level, below another IMG activity.

Procedure

  1. Position the cursor on the structure node under which you want to insert a new IMG activity.
  2. To insert the IMG activity at the same level, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Node Next navigation step Insert IMG Activity Next navigation step At Same Level End of the navigation path, or choose the pushbutton.

To insert the IMG activity one level lower, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Node Next navigation step Insert IMG Activity Next navigation step As Subnode End of the navigation path, or choose the pushbutton.

  3. Enter a technical ID and a name for the IMG activity.

The name should concisely indicate the IMG activity. This IMG activity name appears in the structure. The ID can be shown in the structure display with Start of the navigation path Additional Information Next navigation step Additional Information Next navigation step Show Key Next navigation step Show IMG Activity in the Structure Display End of the navigation path.

    Example

IMG activity ID and name example

IMG activity ID: SIMG_CFMENUSAPCOY05, Name: Maintain calendar

    Note

You can also insert existing IMG activities in the structure. Click on the Assign Other Activity icon to the right of the ID input field. Enter the ID of the existing IMG activity or other search criteria in the following dialog box, and choose Search (Continue).

Mark an activity and choose Copy.

An existing IMG activity is already linked to a document, attributes, and a maintenance object. This link is retained when you choose the IMG activity.

For more information on reusing existing IMG activities, see Reusing Objects.

  4. Only mark the Organizational Activity field if it is for information only, not a system setting. An organizational activity has documentation and attributes, but no maintenance object, and cannot be performed.
    Example

Organizational activity example: Create calculation rules for averages

  5. Save the IMG activity with IMG Start of the navigation path Activity Next navigation step Save End of the navigation path.

Results

You can then assign or create documents, maintain attributes and create a maintenance object.
