Archive Administration for XML DAS ArchivingLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

As in ADK-based archiving, all XML-based archiving functions are carried out using Archive Administration (transaction SARA). For the most part, these functions are the same in both procedures. The differences are described in the Features section.

Features

XML-based Archive Administration differs from ADK-based Archive Administration as follows:

Storage System

There is no separate storage or retrieval function for resources.

Administration

Offers an overview of the storage hierarchy for a specific archiving object. In XML-based archiving, the system displays not only the archiving sessions but also the collection that were created by the archiving sessions. Instead of ADK archiving files, you receive details about the archived resources.

Statistics

In the statistics, there are the following differences between XML-DAS based archiving and ADK archiving:

  • The value that is displayed in the Header Data column is always zero in XML-DAS data archiving as resources do not contain any header data. The information is saved in the XML schema.

  • The value that is displayed in the Disc Space column does not take into account the space taken up by SXD and XSL resources (XML schema and style sheets). Use the Viewing Details for XML DAS Archiving Sessions function for this information.
