Use

SAP NetWeaver Portal provides the KM Mobile Search as the default search provider for use in portal on device. With KM Mobile Search , you can find documents in all the repositories that you have integrated into Knowledge Management.

Note

Knowledge Management must be installed on your system.

In portal on device, you can use the KM Mobile Search search provider in the search bar, which provides functionality that is similar to the suggestions and search functionality in the desktop portal. On mobile devices, the search bar enables you to type a string and display navigation suggestions as you type, or to search for a string using a specific search provider.

In the Smartphone Framework Page , you open the search bar using the small icon below the center of the header. In the Tablet Framework Page , you can configure whether to open the search bar from the header, or display it in the toolbox, which is the default location. You can select a search provider using the button on the left side of the bar Select search provider, and after typing the search string, you activate the search using the button on the right side of the bar Search.

For information about configuring the search bar, see Configuring Properties of Mobile Framework Pages .

The search results are listed below the search bar. Each result is displayed with an icon on the left, followed by a title and a description. To the right of each result, a bar icon is displayed to indicate the relevancy of the result. When there are too many results to display in one page, a See More Results option is added at the bottom of the search results (it may be necessary to scroll down to see this option). Choosing the See More Results option adds additional search results to the end of the list. The number of results per page is taken from the configuration in KM. When you select a result, the document opens in a new portal window.

Note

Currently, advanced search is not supported for portal on device.
