Executing BackupsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Backups can be started in the SQL Server Management Studio, or the DB Administration Planning Calendar.

  • For backups that have to be scheduled periodically, in accordance with a predefined backup strategy, SAP recommends the use of the Planning Calendar. For more information, seeBacking Up with the SAP System.
  • For individual backups that are not planned and may be necessary in exceptional situations, use theSQL Server Management Studio.
