Configuring Acknowledgements for a Receiver IDoc Adapter (AAE)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

You configure acknowledgement (ack) settings to the receiver communication channel depending on the configuration provided as RFC client parameter in the channel. The following table describes the RFC client parameters:

Table 1:
RFC Client Parameters When to use
Default Mode
  • If only one Sender/Receiver IDoc system is involved in communication then it is recommended to use Default mode in communication channel with IDoc_AAE Adapter type.

  • Channel configuration is simple as no authentication parameters are maintained in the channel.
  • Long term operational maintenance of the IDOC connection as it does not require the PI Integration Developer Role for administration of the connection details.
  • Ideally to be used with PI Gateway (in InboundRA resource adapter), this reduces the chances of Gateway related issues and reduces the channel start and stop time.
Note In this mode ALEAUD messages are to be sent to inboundRA. You must use gateway server, host and ProgramID specified in inboundRA while configuring Destination settings in the R3 system via transaction sm59.
Manual Mode
  • Ideal during adhoc development time testing .
  • Quick and easy configuration. It does not require NWA Administration role for configuration.
NWA Mode
  • When there are numerous receivers to be configured for inbound IDoc.
  • Channel configuration is simple as no authentication parameters are maintained in the channel.
