CopyLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

This report copies items from one KM repository to another. For example, you can copy mass data from a file-system repository to a CM repository.

It copies items and, if desired, their ACLs. Properties are not copied with the items.

Recommendation

If a copying process in the KM navigation iView takes too long, a timeout can occur. If this occurs, you are not told whether the process was successful. You should therefore use this report instead to copy large amounts of data.

Prerequisites

If you want to copy items and their ACLs, the ACL security manager , which is delivered by SAP, must be assigned in the source folder repository and in the target repository.

Features

Parameter

Description

Storage Location

Specify the source folder whose content you want to copy.

The system copies the entire folder structure beneath this folder, including the items contained therein.

Maximum Results

The system terminates the search when it has found the corresponding number of items.

Parameter

Description

Target

Enter the target folder into which you want to copy the items (for example, /documents ).

This folder must already exist.

Caution

No items with the same name as source items may exist in the target folder.

If, for example, you specify the source folder /fs/folder1 and the target folder /documents, the system creates the folder /documents/folder1 . This may not exist before the copying process takes place.

List Copied Items

If you check this option, all copied items are listed in the results list.

Stop on Error

If you check this option, the report is stopped if an error occurs. If you do not check this option, the report is continued and all errors are listed in the results list.

Copy ACLs

The ACLs are copied with the items.

Note

Note that ACLs that are inherited from a superordinate folder are only copied if the superordinate folder is also part of the copy action.

When the report starts, the copying process takes place immediately.
