Use

To publish news items in a time-dependent manner, authors define the lifetime of each news item as a validity date on the Edit form. During the validity period, the news items are visible to all users with read permission. Outside of the validity period, the news items are visible only to users with write permission.

Procedure

  1. Activate the Time-Dependent Publishing function in the Details dialog box of the folder where you store the XML files.

  2. To enable authors to define the lifetime of news items on the Edit form, create two timestamp controls on the Edit form with references to the following document properties:

    • Start of the navigation path Lifetime  Next navigation step Valid From End of the navigation path

    • Start of the navigation path Lifetime  Next navigation step Valid To End of the navigation path
