Defining the Names of XML FilesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

When authors use the Save function in the Edit form, the system stores the content they are saving in an XML file or in the properties thereof. By default, the name of the XML file is a GUID. This name appears, for example, in the search results list.

If you want to display the title of a news item instead of its GUID, carry out the steps below.

Procedure

On the Edit form, reference the Name document property in an input field. This property defines the names of documents to be displayed on the KM user interface.

  1. Navigate to the Name document property by choosing Start of the navigation path Properties Next navigation step System  Next navigation step  Name  End of the navigation path on the Data Model tab page .

  2. Use Drag&Drop to pull the Name document property onto the input field.

The system then enters the path to the document property into the Property Reference control property of the input field.

    Recommendation

We recommend that you only reference the document property in the input field, and not a schema element too.

If an input field references both a schema element and a document property, inconsistencies can occur if, for example, a user changes the name in the Details dialog box.
