New project

Creates a new project.

Open project

Displays a dialog box for selecting an existing project.

Save project files

Saves all changes that you have made in the XML Forms Builder to the server.

Note that changes are only visible in the portal after you have generated the project.

Local copy

If saving to the server fails, perhaps because a network connection is temporarily unavailable, the system prompts you to save a local copy on your PC. This prevents changes from being lost due to a temporarily unavailable network connection.

Show options ...

Displays a dialog box in which you can make settings for your projects.

Generate project

Saves all changes that you made in the XML Forms Builder to the server and generates XSLT transformations for depicting the forms in the portal.

If you select this function, the changes take effect immediately in the portal.

Preview

Displays a preview of the current form in your Web browser.

The system saves and generates the project in a temporary folder. This function has no effect on the forms in the portal. If you want to keep your changes, choose ( Save ) or ( Generate project ).

Regenerate preview

Regenerates the preview of the project.

The system saves and generates the project in a temporary folder again. Choose the Refresh function in your Web browser to view the changes.

This function has no effect on the forms in the portal. If you want to keep your changes, choose ( Save ) or ( Generate project ).

Undo

Undoes the last action

You can undo up to 20 steps. This function is not immediately available when you create or load a project.

Restore

Restores the action that was undone.

Toggle tree view for form model

Hides or shows the screen area with the tree view of the controls.

Preview of table structure

Displays the HTML table that is used for the depiction of the current form.

The system displays the borders that are invisible when you display the form in the portal.

Toggle grid

Hides or shows the gridlines in all your forms.

Gridlines help you to position controls more exactly on forms.
