Use

If you save permissions, the system stops inheriting permissions for the object in question. To restore the inheritance, you have to reset the permissions.

Prerequisites

You are a permission owner.

Procedure
  1. Open the Details dialog box for the item, for example, a folder.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Settings  Next navigation step Permissions  End of the navigation path or Service Permissions .

  3. Select one of the following functions:

    Function

    Description

    Restore Defaults

Deletes the access control list (ACL) for the current object and thus releases permission inheritance for the object.

    Reset Child Permissions

Deletes the access control lists (ACLs) for all subordinate objects and releases permission inheritance for these objects.

Prerequisite: Your portal role allows you to change all permissions or you are the permission owner for all subordinate objects. If you are not allowed to change the permissions for an item, the permissions for the item in question, and all subordinate items, remain unchanged.
