Configuring the Session Manager PropertiesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

The Session Manager is responsible for the lifecycle of user sessions and also provides failover capabilities. By configuring its properties, you can enable or disable session failover for a particular application, activate session failover centrally, define where to store sessions (shared memory, file system, database) and when to persist them, and so on.

Procedure


  1. Start the Config Tool by double-clicking the configtool script file from SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool directory.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path View  Next navigation step Expert Mode End of the navigation path.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation path cluster-data Next navigation step <template>  Next navigation step  <instance>  Next navigation step  managers  Next navigation step  SessionManager End of the navigation path.

  4. From the list of properties, select the property you want to modify.

  5. In the Custom value field, set the required value.

  6. To apply the new value, choose Set Custom Value .

  7. To save the changes, choose Start of the navigation path File  Next navigation step Apply Changes End of the navigation path.

  8. For the changes to take effect, restart the cluster.
