Setting Up Application UsersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have imported the Project Management and Employee Services application in the Developer Studio.

Context

This document describes how to set up the initial users for the Project Management and Employee Services application. To perform this task, you can use the Identity Management application of the SAP NetWeaver Administrator in two optional ways:

  • Using the Batch Import function

    The procedure in this document is a detailed description of this method.

  • Manually

    For more information about setting up users, groups, and roles manually, see User Management of the Application Server Java .

For details of the users to be created, see Application Users and User Groups .

Procedure

  1. In a Web browser, start the SAP NetWeaver Administrator: http://<server>:<port>/nwa .

    For example, http://localhost:50100/nwa .

    When prompted for a logon, use the following credentials:

    • User ID: administrator

    • Password: the password set during SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment installation

  2. Open the Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Security Next navigation step Identity Management End of the navigation path function.
  3. Go to Start of the navigation path Import Next navigation step Browse End of the navigation path.
  4. In your file system, browse to the correct location <NWDS_workspace.jdi>\LocalDevelopment\JAVAEE-SAMPLES\sap.com\xapps\ra.prjmgmt.dict\_comp\resources and choose Upload for each of the files. Use Return to Import to upload the next file.

    For example, C:\workspace.jdi\LocalDevelopment\JAVAEE-SAMPLES\sap.com\xapps\ra.prjmgmt.dict\_comp\resources\group_employee_itelo.dat .

    Make sure you upload them in the following order:

    1. user_employee_itelo.dat

    2. group_employee_itelo.dat

  5. Log Off the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
