Where Do I Set the User Interface?Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can set the user interface in various places.

Layout sets play a central in the definition of the layout. You can gather together all the parameters that define a layout in a layout set.

The graphic below displays an example of how layout sets and individual parameters can be used.

iView

When you create an iView based on the KM Navigation iView template, you define a layout set and layout set mode in the iView properties.

The layout set mode controls the priority of the settings.

Folders

All users can personalize the presentation of folders in the Details dialog box. Choose Settings → Presentation to do this. You can select one of more layout profiles that are graphically depicted using thumbnails.

The layout profile references a layout set and a plug-in. This plug-in provides a user interface for the personalization of certain parameters such as selecting document properties to be displayed in the columns of a list.

If you are assigned to the service permission Layout, you can define the folder display not only for your user, but also for all users. However, the other users can override this setting.

Default Layout Profile

The default layout profile references a layout profile that in its turn references a layout set. The settings for this layout set are valid as long as no other settings are made.

Object Type Handler (OTH)

The object handler (OTH) enables the layout to be controlled flexibly. You can apply entire layout sets or any individual parameters to an entire repository, a section of a repository, or a single folder. You can restrict the resource types for which the settings are to be valid.
