Managing InfoCubes

You can view technical information about the content of the InfoCube and perform administrative tasks.

1. Select the InfoCube.

   The InfoCube is displayed in the upper table. You just have to make one one selection of several InfoCubes here if you called InfoCube administration from the scheduler or the monitor.

   Once you have selected an InfoCube from the table in the upper half of the screen, you can display the content of the InfoCube by choosing Content in the toolbar. If you have not selected an InfoCube, you can display any number of dictionary tables relevant to InfoCube administration. Enter the table name in the dialog box that appears. Choose Delete Content to delete the content of the InfoCube. You can also display an application log and a process overview.

2. Edit the Content of the InfoCube tab page.

   You can view the dimensions of an InfoCube with the InfoObjects that belong to it.

   Choose or to display the contents of the InfoCube and the fact table, and to delete them if required.

3. Edit the Performance tab page.

   In addition to load performance, you can also influence query performance. More information: InfoCube Performance

4. Edit the Requests tab page.

   You receive information about all requests that have run in the InfoCube. You can also delete requests if required.

5. Edit the Rollup tab page.

   You can start rolling up the requests for restructuring aggregates immediately or in the background. You can view existing aggregates for the InfoCube, together with their logs.

   If activated aggregates exist for the InfoCube, and you are loading new requests into the InfoCube, you also have to roll these up to the aggregates. Only when this has been done are these new requests taken into account when executing a query.

6. Edit the Collapse tab page.

   You can use the compress function to group data from different requests into one request.

7. Optional: Use the automatic further processing.

   If you are still using a 3.x InfoPackage to load data, you can activate several automatic features to further process the data in the InfoCube. If you use the data transfer process and process chains that we recommend using however, you cannot use these automatic features.

8. Optional: Edit the Reconstruction tab page.

   This function is only necessary for InfoCubes that have obtained their data from 3.x InfoPackages.

   You can build an InfoCube from the requests that have already been uploaded. You can use these requests to rebuild the current InfoCube or to build another one.

10. Optional: Edit the Archiving tab page.

    If you have created a data archiving process, you see an additional Archiving tab page in InfoCube administration.
