Use

In Knowledge Management, documents for InfoProvider data are structured in a hierarchy that is made up of several folders. The documents are assigned to folders on the basis of their properties. The hierarchy level on which the documents are displayed depends on how specific their data assignment is. Documents without a specific data assignment are displayed at the top level of the hierarchy, while documents with specific assignments are displayed on the lower levels of the hierarchy. The hierarchy tree for documents contains the following folders:

  • Folder for the system alias

If the documents are stored on the BW server, this folder is unnecessary.

  • Folder for documents for InfoProvider data

  • Folder for documents for a specific InfoProvider

  • Folder for documents for a specific InfoProvider and a specific query

On the first level of the hierarchy under the BW document repository, the folder for the BW system is displayed as the system alias folder if necessary. The folder for the InfoProvider data is on the second level. All documents that are not specifically assigned are displayed here. This includes documents that are not assigned to a specific InfoProvider or query. On the next level, documents are displayed that are assigned to an InfoProvider but not a query. On the lowest level of the hierarchy, documents that are assigned very specifically are displayed. This includes documents that are assigned to a specific InfoProvider and a specific query.
