Displaying the MIME VersionLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The MIME version of a message contains all the information about an inbound or outbound message. The MIME version can be very helpful when analyzing errors to find out how a message leaves the SAP system or is received by an SAP system. The MIME version should, for example, be used as the basis for analyzing errors with formatting or code page problems.

Procedure

If you want to store the MIME version for troubleshooting, or if you simply want to have the version available in general, proceed as follows:

  1. Call SAPconnect administration (SCOT).

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step MIME Settings End of the navigation path

  3. Select when the MIME version is to be stored for inbound or outbound e-mails.

  4. Choose Save.

To display a MIME version of a document, proceed as follows:

  1. Call the overview of the send requests (either SOST or SOIN).

  2. Select a document from transaction SOST. Using the context menu you can see the MIME version by displaying the MIME format.

    In transaction SOIN, select the entry you require and then choose Start of the navigation path Send Request Next navigation step MIME Version Next navigation step Display MIME End of the navigation path.

Note

If you want to use the context menu to display the MIME version in the document display, for example in the Business Workplace, the message is displayed:

No additional actions are necessary.

The reason for this is that the MIME version of the document is not stored for performance reasons and can therefore not be displayed. For productive operation, do not activate the storing of the MIME version.
