Increasing the Size of Main Storage Pools (IBM i)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

If you notice that a main storage pool has a high paging rate, increase the size of the pool affected. (You can check paging rates using the operating system monitor (Transaction ST06) or the CCMS alert monitor (Transaction RZ20).

  • Machine Pool: This is always system pool 1.

    The paging rate should be lower than 10 faults per second.

  • Other pools: Ideally, the paging rate should be lower than 200 faults per second.
