Creating a Portal ApplicationLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Generally, you create a portal application that defines a component or service. However, you can create an application that only contains web resources, such as HTML, CSS or other files that are available for other components.

Prerequisites

You are currently in the Enterprise Portal perspective.

Procedure

To create a portal application, you must perform the following tasks:

  1. Create a portal application project, as described in Creating Portal Application Projects

  2. Optionally, create a portal component, as described in Creating a Portal Component

  3. Optionally, create a portal service, as described in Creating a Portal Service

  4. Edit the portalapp.xml file, as described in Editing a portalapp.xml File

Note

You can also create a portal application project from an existing PAR/EAR file, as described in Importing PAR/EAR Files .
