Starting and Stopping Java ApplicationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Use this procedure to change the current and/or the initial status of Java applications on all instances at runtime.

Procedure
  1. In the SAP NetWeaver Administrator, choose Start of the navigation path  Operations Next navigation step Systems  Next navigation step Start & Stop End of the navigation path.

  2. Choose the Java Applications tab.

    All available applications are displayed in a table with the respective system information.

    You can perform the following activities:

Starting and Stopping Applications on All Instances

  1. From the Application List are, select an application.

  2. Choose Start , Stop or Restart , respectively.

  3. If you want the status change to be valid for the current runtime only, from Retrieve Status choose On .

    To set the change as future initial state, choose Off .

    Note

    We recommend that you use this option with careful consideration of the impact on the overall system performance.

Viewing Application References, Modules, Resources and Details

Select an application, go to the Details About <application_name> area and choose from the following tabs:

  • Status - show the current status of the application.

  • Reference - shows all the components (services, interfaces, libraries, other applications) that are in reference with the application.

  • Modules - shows the Java modules that compose the application.

  • Resources - shows the Java resources used by the application.

  • Details - provides general information about the application. It also provides an option for managing the application failover.

  • Aliases - shows the aliases for direct access to the application.

To perform additional tasks, choose an option from the More Actions menu.
