Transferring Role Data and Assignments to the SAP System

SAP NetWeaver Portal offers a function that allows you to transfer the role data and assignments that you create and maintain in the portal to connected ABAP systems.

The following data is filtered out of the portal roles and transferred:

• Contained transaction code, where iViews are the only objects in a portal role that may access SAP transactions.

• Authorization trace IDs

  Further authorizations that are checked when an iView is called in the portal (for example ABAP authorizations for calling RFC-enabled function modules) are necessary for iViews that access back-end systems. In the ABAP system, a trace ID is generated for each iView that is transferred. To make sure that the trace IDs necessary for iViews are generated, authorization tracing must be activated in the back-end system. If authorization tracing is activated, the proposed authorization values entered in the back-end system are created for the trace IDs. You can generate the authorization profiles from the proposed authorization values.
