Assigning Logical SystemsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

Context

The ABAP system landscape has not been assigned to the portal. This means that neither the names of the logical ABAP systems nor their responsibilities have been assigned to the portal.

In table WP3ROLESYS of the ABAP system responsible for role maintenance you define the logical systems for which this system is responsible for role maintenance. For more information, see Adjusting System Responsibilities . The information in table WP3ROLESYS must be assigned in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. Before the portal transfers role data to the ABAP system that is responsible for role maintenance, this ABAP system informs the portal which logical systems it is responsible for.

The portal can read the data that is relevant for the role transfer using the logical system name from the portal roles and transfer it to the system responsible for role maintenance. The logical systems must be assigned to the portal systems within the portal system landscape.

You cannot find out which systems are responsible for user assignments in table WP3ROLESYS. These systems are automatically derived from the ABAP system landscape using a certain algorithm. To learn how to find these systems, see Transferring User Assignments .

Procedure

  1. In the ABAP system that is responsible for role maintenance, check in table WP3ROLESYS which logical system names must be assigned to the portal.

  2. Consider which portal systems correspond to these logical system names or which portal systems refer to these logical systems in your portal system landscape.

  3. Find the relevant portal systems with Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step System Configuration Next navigation step  System Landscape End of the navigation path.

  4. Click each system with the secondary mouse button and choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Properties End of the navigation path.

  5. Under the Connector node, edit all the properties necessary to connect to an ABAP system, for example Logical System Name , SAP Client , Message Server , SAP System ID .
