Use the restart from the log, for example, when developing tests. If you make changes to part of a large test and want to check them afterwards, you do not have to restart the entire process - instead you can start the relevant branch from the last log.
You can restart the following eCATT objects from the log:
Test script in the REF command or in the VALIDATE command
Test script with version
Validation
Test script variant as part of a configuration
Test configuration
The entire process
Scope of Information Transferred to eCATT Execution
Depending on which of the eCATT objects mentioned above you want to restart, the scope of the information transferred to the eCATT execution varies.
Restarting a test script (also REF, VALIDATE and Validation)
The system handles all test script restarts as individual executions of test scripts.
The system transfers the import parameter values from the log to the start option screen. You can change these before the actual start.
Test script version, target system, and start options are transferred directly to the execution. You can check and change these on the start options screen.
Restarting one or multiple test configurations
The system handles all test configuration restarts and entire processes as a collective execution, as in the test workbench.
No tab pages for parameters or variants are shown on the start options screen. The system transfers the variants of each test configuration as they are displayed in the log directly to the execution. The versions to be executed are determined automatically using version finding.
Display the corresponding log.
If required, expand the nodes to be restarted.
To execute the restart, proceed as follows:
Restarting with the Start Screen
Click the relevant node with the secondary mouse button and select Restart.
The start option screen is displayed in a new session.
Optional: You can make changes on the start options screen.
Select , or the F8 pushbutton.
Restarting Without the Start Screen
Click the relevant node with the secondary mouse button and select Restart (Without Start Screen).
The system executes the test script or the collective execution immediately.
You cannot make changes.
Whether the log is displayed or not depends on the settings in start options.
If you restart a part of a test from the log, the status in test workbench objects is not updated.
