Definition

The XML iView Editor enables you to edit XML iViews in the portal.

Use

The XML iView Editor allows you to perform the following tasks:

  • Modify settings you already defined in the XML iView Wizard.

  • Define additional settings not available in the XML iView Wizard.

Structure

The user interface of the XML iView Editor is divided as follows:

Element

Description

XML Source

Specifies the URL of the XML source on Web page.

For detailed information, see Selecting the XML Source .

System

Specifies the system alias that represents a system object defined in the portal. This system is used to facilitate user mapping for an information source that requires user authentication.

Configure URL

Select the Configure URL option to display below it a list of parameters that are appended to the URL of the iView.

If needed, you can define preset values for parameters and specify whether or not portal end users are able to view and personalize parameter values.

You also specify the URL request method.

Configure XML Transformation

Select the Configure XML Transformation option to display below it a list of XML transformers you have already selected to parse the XML feed.

You can add and remove XML transformers, determine the sequence of the transformation pipe, and define values for parameters that are associated with each XML transformer.

Property Editor

Displays iView properties which you can edit.

For detailed information, see XML iView Properties .

Once you have finished editing the iView, you can do the following:

  • Click Save to accept all changes.

  • Click Close to close the editor without applying unsaved changes.

  • Click Preview to view the iView as would appear in the portal at runtime.
