Creating Variants in Test Data ContainersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

At least one parameter has been defined on the Parameters tab.

Context

You can specify variants, which are sets of different parameter values. ECATTDEFAULT is the default variant. It has the same values as specified on the Parameters tab page. If no value is assigned to the parameter of a variant, the corresponding value from ECATTDEFAULT is used.

If you already have the data in the appropriate format in an external file, you can import the data instead of using the procedure described here, see: External Test Data (External Variants).

Procedure

  1. In the test data editor, choose the Variants tab.

  2. Choose Create to append a new variant.

  3. In the Variants field, enter a name for the variant.

  4. For each of the parameters, either enter a value or leave the field empty.

  5. Save your entries.
