Migrating Existing Components to the New Version of NW Mobile

Prerequisites

You have installed version 7.11 of NW Mobile.

You have development components and applications created in version 7.10 of NW Mobile.

Context

You need to migrate mobile applications and components developed in SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.10 to use it in SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.11.

Procedure

In the Mobile Applications perspective of SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, choose File Switch Workspace and define the location of the components which you want to migrate to the new version of NWDS.
Choose File Migrate Mobile Applications .

Note
If you are using Design Time Repository (DTR), you can directly launch the Migration wizard by clicking Launch Migration Tool in the Component Properties tab page of the Development Configuration Track.
In the Migration dialog you need to select the development components you wish to migrate then choose Next. The development components can either be from your local workspace or contained within a Design Time Repository (DTR).
Choose Next again to confirm the migration of the selected component.

The migration tool creates a copy of the component as a back-up.

Once the migration is completed, three buttons will appear in the dialog box "Show Backup Files", "Show Log File", and "Roll Back Changes".

Backup Files - Opens a file browser in the directory where the backups are located.

Show Log File - Opens a log file containing information about the migration process.

Roll Back Changes - This button appears only for migrations conducted in Local Development, and you can revert your component migration using this button.
Choose Finish to accept the changes.
Navigate to the Development Infrastructure perspective.
On the Component Browser tab page, choose the development component.
From the context menu, choose Sync/Create Project Create Project .
