Defining Language Support in the Locale ServiceLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The portal supports the translation of its UI text strings from its default language to any language supported by the locale service. The locale service properties determine what languages comprise the master language list, to which languages the UI strings may be translated, and which languages are available for translation to users logged on to the portal as anonymous users.

This section describes how to configure the list of locale languages, by editing the locale service properties in SAP NetWeaver Administrator. For more information, see Accessing Portal Services in SAP NetWeaver Administrator

Procedure
  1. In the SAP NetWeaver Administrator tool, access the following portal application and service:

    • Portal application: com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework

    • Portal service: locale_list_service

  2. Specify the language values for the relevant properties described in the table below.

    • Use NLS supported language abbreviations

    • Enter abbreviations in lower case

    • Use comma (,), semicolon (;), or space as separators.

  3. Restart the services of the com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework application.

For more information, see Starting and Stopping Portal Services .
