Use

When you upgrade an NWDI-driven system landscape, you may need to protect your systems against unscheduled imports. To do this, you can use the import lock function in Transport Studio.

The import lock keeps imports in a system until the lock is lifted again.

Prerequisites

You are in Transport Studio.

You have the authorization to perform critical transport functions in CMS.

Procedure

Setting an Import Lock

To set an import lock, proceed as follows:

  1. In Transport Studio, choose the tab page for the system where you want to set an import lock.

  2. Choose Lock Import Queue . A confirmation dialog box appears.

  3. Confirm this prompt. The status of the import queue changes from UNLOCKED to LOCKED .

The import queue is now locked. Any inbound change requests or software component archives will be collected in the queue until the import lock is lifted again.

Lifting an Import Lock

To lift an import lock, proceed as follows:

  1. In Transport Studio, choose the tab page of the system where you want to lift an import lock.

  2. Choose Unlock Import Queue . A confirmation dialog box appears.

  3. Confirm this prompt. The status of the import queue changes from LOCKED to UNLOCKED .

After you have lifted the import queue, you can run imports into the system as normal.
