Wizard Based Configuration of DILocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

The System Landscape Directory (SLD) is set up. For more information, see Wizard-Based Configuration for SLD .

The NWDI is set up with Change Management Service (CMS) on it. See Configuring the Development Infrastructure .

Context

To configure some of the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) functionality, you can use the Configuration Wizard. The configuration itself consists of a number of steps, which the Configuration Wizard executes automatically. You only provide the parameters and trigger the execution process.

Caution

Once CMS domain is configured using the configuration wizard, it is only possible to change configuration data (for example, transport directory) in CMS manually. The reason is that changing domain data affects all tracks configured in CMS. So the person changing these data must have an overview of all existing tracks (are there configured tracks or not, are there productive tracks or not, and so on). Such an overview is not possible in the configuration wizard.

Procedure

  1. Start the SAP NetWeaver Administrator and log on as an administrator. Choose Start of the navigation path Configuration  Next navigation step Scenarios  Next navigation step  Configuration Wizard End of the navigation path.

    The Configuration Wizard appears.

  2. Select the configuration task you want to execute.

You can use the configuration tasks:

    • Change Management Service (CMS): Create an Application Skeleton

Creates tracks for some common application types, for example xApps or composites. The configuration task can be executed remotely on the runtime system for which the development in the track is designed (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or SAP NetWeaver 7.3). Thus the configuration can make use, for example of the build plug-in SCAs that reside on the runtime system to fill CBS with the correct build environment. If you prefer to run this task on the NWDI system, note that you then need to copy the necessary SCAs into the inbox folder of CMS in the transport directory (that is to /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CMS <host><sid> ). For example, to configure a track for Composite Application development on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 run the configuration task Change Management Service (CMS): Create an Application Skeleton on the SAP NetWeaver 7.3 development system and specify the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 system as NWDI system in it. For more information, see Setting Up Tracks Using the Configuration Template .

    • Change Management Service (CMS): Modify a Software Component

Creates a track for modification of an SC, for example for SAP_ESS.

  3. Choose Start and follow the steps of the wizard.
