Definition

A worklist can contain portal objects that are marked as text, including the properties of the portal objects that are declared as text attributes. These objects can be translated.

A worklist divides texts into units that can be edited. Worklists are:

  • administered by one or more administrators

  • converted by translators from a source language to a target language

The translation worklist displays the objects it contains for translation in a table that displays each objects portal type (such as iView, page, role, worklist), name, and ID. Each column heading icon has a sorting icon Image: Sorting icon; and the left-most column, containing checkboxes for selection, has a select/deselect all icon Image: Select/Deselect All icon.

Status

A worklist can have different status levels depending on its current location in the translation process. To see the current status, you can either right-click the desired worklist in Portal Content and choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Properties End of the navigation path, or just click the Properties link at the top left of an already open worklist.

The following graphic shows the different status levels of a worklist. Note that you can only view the status from translation worklist coordination.

  • A worklist that is newly created has the status New .

  • The status changes to Released when it is released for translation.

  • When the release is canceled, the status is reset to New .

  • When a worklist is being translated, it has status In Progress .

  • The translator sets the status to Translated . Worklists in status Translated can then be published.

  • When the status changes to Published , the texts are written back to the objects to which they belong.
