Configuring the Non-Central Advanced Adapter EngineLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

In addition to the central Advanced Adapter Engine, non-central Advanced Adapter Engines can be installed on an SAP NetWeaver AS for Java without Integration Engines. There may be any number of non-central Advanced Adapter Engines, each associated with exactly one Integration Server with which the Advanced Adapter Engine communicates using the XI protocol.

Basic installation is required after a non-central Advanced Adapter Engine (non-central AAE) has been installed. You can use a wizard to perform this basic configuration.

Note

By default, user management for the non-central AAE still relies on AS ABAP-based user management of the Integration Server. That means, with regard to user management, there is still a coupling between both stacks.

You have the option to de-couple user management for a non-central AAE from AS ABAP. This option is referred to as local user management for non-central AAE .

Note

The Advanced Adapter Engine is simply referred to as Adapter Engine in the subsequent documentation.
