Assign Communication Channel
When configuring connections you can also assign a communication channel to each activated sender-receiver relation of a connection.
Note that in certain cases it is not necessary to define a sender agreement.

Note that collaboration agreements are only created for sender/receiver relations that have been assigned a sender or receiver channel. If you do not assign a sender channel to a relation, for example, this will mean that no sender agreement will be created for this relation.
You have activated at least one sender/receiver relation.
You can assign a communication channel to a sender/receiver relation in different ways.
Selecting Communication Channels Using Input Help
You can select a communication channel from the list of existing communication channels. To do so, on the Connections from Communication Component Assignment tab page, call the input help for the Communication Channel column (in the Communication Channel ).
The input help first displays existing communication agreements or direct connections for the sender/receiver relation. If a matching collaboration agreement or direct connection exists, then the list of possible values will only contain the communication channel that is assigned to this collaboration agreement or direct connection. If no matching collaboration agreement or direct connection exists, the input help displays all communication channels that are assigned to the communication component.
Creating Communication Channels on the Basis of a Communication Template
You can create a communication channel on the basis of a communication channel template from the ES Repository. To do so, on the Connections from Communication Component Assignment tab page, choose Create Communication Channel ( ) followed by the menu option Create Communication Channel with Template .
Using the wizard, you select a communication channel from the ES Repository and then create a communication channel based on the template.
If the connection has already been assigned a communication channel template, it is the default communication channel template.
Creating Communication Channels on the Basis of a Template
You can create a new communication channel on the basis of an existing communication channel. The communication channel is then used as a copy template.
To do so, on the Connections from Communication Component Assignment tab page, choose Create Communication Channel ( ) followed by the menu option Create Communication Channel as Copy .
Automatic Creation of Communication Channels
You can have the system create communication channels automatically for each business system component assigned to the connection. The communication channels are created using the data for the business systems in the System Landscape Directory.
To do so, on the Connections from Communication Component Assignment tab page, choose Create Communication Channels Automatically .
