Optimizing the Landscape Using the Reorg Function in the TREX Admin ToolLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can use the reorganization function in the TREX admin tool (see Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg End of the navigation path) to automatically redistribute and optimize your TREX system landscape. This function redistributes the TREX indexes on the master hosts and removes backup and slave hosts that are no longer required.

Note

For more information about using the Reorg functions in the TREX admin tool, see Reorganization of the TREX System Landscape.

Procedure
  1. Check the roles of the servers in the TREX admin tool at Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Configuration End of the navigation path. If necessary, correct the roles and then choose Deploy.

  2. Switch to Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg End of the navigation path:

The system automatically calculates a new, optimized distribution of your TREX system landscape according to the newly-defined roles. The new distribution of the servers is then displayed at Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg Next navigation step Plan End of the navigation path and Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg Next navigation step Usage By Service End of the navigation path.

  3. Start the reorganization of the landscape by choosing Start Reorg in Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg Next navigation step Summary End of the navigation path.

The progress of the reorganization is displayed at Start of the navigation path Landscape Next navigation step Reorg Next navigation step Plan End of the navigation path.

Result

The TREX system landscape is reorganized and optimized according to your settings.
