Deploying Dictionary Development ComponentsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

Context

During deployment of Dictionary development components (DCs), the database object definitions residing in the DCs are translated from Java Dictionary into relevant statements for the database concerned - provided the objects have been newly created. If an object has been changed, the Dictionary version is compared with the database version. For each DDL statement, the necessary structure changes are executed on the database.

Procedure

  1. Build your Dictionary DC.

    1. In the Dictionary Explorer , select your Dictionary DC.

    2. In the context menu, choose Start of the navigation path Development Component Next navigation step Build End of the navigation path.

      The Build DCs dialog opens.

    3. Choose OK .

  2. Deploy your Dictionary DC on the server.

    1. In the Dictionary Explorer , select your Dictionary DC.

    2. In the context menu, choose Start of the navigation path Development Component Next navigation step Deploy End of the navigation path.

      The Deploy DCs dialog opens.

    3. Choose OK .

    4. If necessary, enter the administrative user name and password to connect to the application server.
