Use

In the Start of the navigation path Index Next navigation step Usage End of the navigation path area (TREX admin tool (standalone) or on the Usage tab page (TREX admin tool in the SAP system (transaction TREXADMIN), dynamic data about index usage and statistical information about indexes and transactions (if available) is displayed. In particular, the system displays dynamic information that changes in TREX during running operations. All of these values result in an overview of the dynamic processes in an index.

Access Statistics Tab Page

Displays statistical information about the number of documents, index size, and amount of working memory used by indexes.

You can use the function keys Group: Index and Group: Host to toggle the display of the data:

  • Group: Index displays the total values for all indexes on all hosts (for example, number of indexes, total number of documents, and disk space required).

  • Group: Host displays the values specific for one TREX host.

    Parameter

    Purpose

    Group: Index

    Index ID

Name/ID of the index and type of index (for example, compound index)

    Documents

Number of documents in the displayed index

    Disk Size

Size of the index on the hard disk

    Mem. Size

Size of the index in the working memory

The other columns dynamically provide other important values for the index, such as CPU time consumed, number of read and write processes, and number of memory discharges.

    Group: Host

    Group: Host/Port

Specifies the host number and port number

    Mode

Type of index server (master, slave, and so on)

    # Indexes

Total number of indexes for each specified host

    Documents

Total number of documents for each specified host

    Disk Size

Total size of all indexes on the hard disk

    Mem. Size

Total size of all indexes in the working memory

The other columns dynamically provide other important values for the index, such as CPU time consumed, number of read and write processes, and number of memory discharges.

    Loaded Indexes Tab Page

Displays the indexes that are currently loaded in the working memory.

The Preload function allows you to load attributes to the memory; the Unload function allows you to remove them from the memory.

    Parameter

    Purpose

    Host

    Host name

    Port

    Specifies the port number

    Index ID

    Index name/ID

    Language

    Index language

    Loaded Attr.

Number of attributes loaded in the memory/Total number of attributes available

    Loaded Attributes

Values of the attributes loaded in the memory

Memory Info and Caches Tab Pages

Memory Info and Cache tab pages display statistical information for monitoring the TREX MemWatch und cache functions. The TREX cache is used to cache search results. You can choose Clear Cache to delete the TREX cache and Rebuild Cache to restore it.

    Transactions Tab Page

Below the Transaction ID parameter, the Transactions tab page displays database transactions connected with TREX indexes ( Index ID). Of significance here is that both data stores - database and TREX indexes - manage the data in the same way. The End Transactions function allows you to terminate a transaction and the Rollback function allows you to reset data to a consistent original state.
