Setting the Time Span for Object Locking

You configure the following properties for object locking:

• Pcd.Locks.LockLifespan

  The period of time during which an object is locked. When this time is exceeded, the locked object is automatically released.

• Pcd.Locks.LockProtectionSpan

  The period of time during which an object is available for a user, before another user can take over the object.

  An object cannot be taken over by another user while it is being edited. The lock protection span is refreshed each time the server is accessed, for example each time you save an object, and each time the screen is refreshed.

You modify the values of the locking configuration properties in the AS Java - Config Tool. The property values are in milliseconds.
