Developing Mobile Applications for Laptops

You create mobile applications using the Mobile Applications for Laptops plug-in. The plug-in is an SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio tool that allows you to create applications for client devices like laptops and Ultra mobile PCs. These applications can run in the occasionally-connected mode, that is, the mobile client can run the applications without a permanent network connection to the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE).

The applications target users who primarily work in the field, and need to access information while they are away from office. For example, users can include sales executives, field service engineers, and delivery people. These users run the applications in the offline mode, and periodically connect to the DOE to synchronize applications and data.

Mobile Applications for Laptops provide the design time environment to create and test mobile applications. After you create the applications, you can run them in the mobile client for laptops.
