Creating a Web Dynpro Page LayoutLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If you are creating or editing a Web Dynpro page, you can create and use layouts that you define. These layouts reside in the Portal Catalog and can be copied and modified as needed.

Procedure
  1. In the context menu of the folder in which you want to store the new layout, choose Start of the navigation path New Next navigation step Layout End of the navigation path. The New Layout wizard appears.

  2. In the Layout Properties step, define the basic properties of the layout.

  3. In the Choose a Template step, either build a Table or select an Existing Template on which to base the new layout.

  4. In the Design Layout step, you see a graphic representation of your template. Adjust it by adding rows and columns as needed and choosing Apply to view your changes.

  5. In the Adjust Layout step, you can fine tune each container using the arrow buttons in each container.

The new layout is stored in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) and displayed in the Portal Catalog. You can assign the layout to a new or existing page by opening the page in the Page editor and using the Add/Remove Layouts operation to assign the layout to the page.

More Information

You can also create layouts as follows:

  • In the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, you can create new JSP and Web Dynpro layouts, or new layout templates, based on any of the layouts provided. These new layouts can be modified without affecting the source template. For more information, see Creating Custom PRT Layouts .

  • You can copy Web Dynpro layouts that reside in the Web Dynpro Application Repository and paste them into the Portal Catalog. For more information, see Working with GPAL Repositories .
