Use

The portal activity report feature enables portal administrators to gather and present information about portal activity, including information about the users who logged on to the portal and about the content that was viewed.

The feature includes an iView that can display a portal activity report with one of the following:

  • Information about the number of users who logged on during a specified period of time

  • Information about the users who logged on

  • Information about the number of users who visited each page and iView

For more information about how data is collected, aggregated and displayed in reports, see How the Portal Activity Report Works .

You need to configure the service if you want to change the default properties for data collection. For more information, see Configuring the Activity Report Service .

  2. To be able to work with Web Dynpro iViews and pages, configure the Web Dynpro hook in NWA.

    1. In SAP NetWeaver Administrator, go to Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Next navigation step Application Modules End of the navigation path.

    2. In the module list (under the overview tab), search for webdynpro/resources/sap.com/pb and select it.

    3. Under Web Module Details choose the Web Dynpro Properties tab and select Components/com.sap.portal.pb.PageBuilder/PortalHooks .

Comparison with Activity Data Collector

The Activity Data Collector collects more detailed information about portal requests, and saves this information into files, one line for each request. You have access to the raw data. You are responsible for analyzing this data and creating reports, using non-portal tools.

The portal activity report collects basic information about portal visitors and the iViews and pages viewed, and provides an iView for creating basic reports about portal activity. The data is aggregated, and this aggregated data is displayed with the portal activity report iView in predefined report types.
