Configuring the WsActionInboxConnectorLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

Before you configure WsActionInboxConnector you have to meet the following prerequisites:

  • You have the System Administrator portal role assigned to your user on the consumer system.

  • You have a user with the appropriate authorizations in SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java on both the consumer and the provider systems.

Context

The WsActionInboxConnector of the consumer system connects to the ActionInboxConnector of the provider system and provides KM Recent Notifications in the Universal Worklist (UWL) Notification tab, checked-out documents under Tracking , and documents for approval under Tasks . The notifications, tracking, and tasks are taken from the provider system.

Note

We recommend that you use this connector only in a federated portal network (FPN).

Procedure

  1. Register the provider system as an item provider for the UWL.
  2. Create a service endpoint of the ActionInboxConnectorRemote service definition on the provider system. Make sure that the authentication method is logon tickets. When configuring the Web service security, in the Authentication screen area, you must deselect all other authentication methods except for Logon Ticket .
  3. Create a logical port of the ActionInboxConnectorRemote consumer proxy by importing the WSDL URL of the provider ActionInboxConnectorRemote service. Make sure you have entered the alias name of the provider system in the Logical Port Name field and have set the authentication method to Logon Ticket .
  4. Configure the provider system to accept logon tickets from the consumer.
  5. Repeat the above procedure for every remote system you want to connect to.

Results

KM Recent Notifications, checked-out documents, and documents for approval from the remote provider systems are displayed in the UWL of the consumer system.

Note

Make sure that you set a higher value for the Timeout Value for the Connected Systems in UWL service parameters to avoid possible connection timeout errors in the system connection status.
