Normal and Advanced View in the Configuration iViewLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The Configuration iView provides two views of the navigation hierarchy.

The normal view contains the configuration objects and parameters that an administrator uses most often. The advanced view contains all configuration objects and parameters.

Features

The normal view leaves out many configuration objects that require no further configuration or that only need to be modified occasionally.

The advanced view contains all configuration objects. In addition to the entries in the normal view, it also contains configuration objects that you cannot change. The advanced view also contains parameters that are only used very occasionally. Configuration classes and objects that are only displayed in the advanced view are indicated with a plus sign (+). Individual parameters can also be indicated with a plus sign in the advanced view. These parameters are hidden in the normal view.

Activities

There are two settings for swapping between the two views.

Global Setting

You can use the global setting to apply one of the views to the entire iView. If you change to another page or leave the iView, the chosen view is saved.

To do this, open the Mode entry in the menu bar of the Configuration iView. To use the advanced view, choose Mode → Advanced. To return to the normal view, choose Mode → Normal.

Local Setting

The local setting is only valid for the current page. If you change to another page or leave the iView, the chosen view is not saved.

In order to display all configuration objects or parameters for the current page in the normal view, choose Show Advanced Options. To return to the normal view for this page, choose Hide Advanced Options.

Note

If there are no further entries or parameters for folders or configuration objects, the Show Advanced Options link is not displayed.
