Access to Forums via iViews
SAP delivers views on forums, which allow you to make the forums and their administrative functions accessible via portal iViews. A view is a set of screens designated for specific portal roles like the administration or the use of forums. To make a view accessible, you need to assign it to a portal iView, which can be accessed by users having the respective portal role.
Besides a whole view you can assign specific screens of a view to iViews. Thus you can make - for example - the thread list or the moderation screen accessible via separate iViews.
The basic iViews needed to work with forums are configured within the installation procedure. If required, you can change the configuration of the available iViews or create new ones to make additional forum functions accessible in the portal.
The following figure illustrates the procedure of creating forum iViews.
Creating a Forum iView
The installation procedure includes the creation of a custom iView template for forum iViews in order to allow the customization of this template and to make sure, that your specific template settings are not overwritten by updates.
Configuring a Forum iView
You have either chosen to open a newly created iView for editing (as described above) or opened an existing forum iView for editing.
