User Management of SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java (SAP NetWeaver AS for Java) enables you to manage users and roles for access to applications of SAP NetWeaver AS for Java and the data, which the applications require.

The user management engine (UME) provides user management as a service of SAP NetWeaver AS for Java. Thus the user management features of SAP NetWeaver AS for Java are identical with that of the UME.
