Creating and Editing Gateway RulesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You have created a data object.

  • You have created a gateway distribution model.

  • You have created a distribution dependency. (This prerequisite is optional depending at which level you want the rule to apply.)

Context

A gateway determination model has rules and dependencies. You can define the following types of rules:

  • Bulk rule

    This is the default type for gateway determination model.

  • Rule with criteria fields

    When there are criteria fields in the distribution rule, you can have further options:

    • Criteria fields with no criteria logic.

      In this rule, you do not define the value for the criteria fields during design time. A mobile administrator must define the criteria value when creating the gateways.

    • Criteria field with a constant value.

    • Criteria field with an initial value.

      An initial value is the default value of the criteria field. If the criteria field is not filled with a value during runtime, the DOE considers the initial value for evaluation.

    • Criteria field mapped to an attribute in the gateway metamodel.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server and start the transaction SDOE_WB .
  2. From the Data Orchestration Engine Workbench, select the project that you want to work in.
    Note

    To display all projects, type * in the instance list field and choose Enter .

  3. Click the distribution model with the secondary mouse button and choose Start of the navigation path Add Next navigation step Rule End of the navigation path.
  4. Enter a name and description for the rule.
  5. In the Rule Details area, select a row and choose Add Criteria Field .

    Enter the required details.

  6. To define the criteria logic, choose the Create Action button in the Action column for the rule.
  7. Select the rule and enter the required details.
