Use

In the Kernel user menu, you can find a display of the current kernel log.

The messages output in the knldiag kernel log support you when you interpret the events that occurred since the database system was started.

Procedure

Open the Database Assistant (transaction DB50) or the liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10). Choose Start of the navigation path Problem Analysis Next navigation step Messages Next navigation step Kernel Next navigation step Current End of the navigation path.

The messages display is part of the DBA Cockpit and can therefore also be called as follows:

  1. Open DBA Cockpit (transaction DBACOCKPIT).

  2. The display options in DBA Cockpit vary depending on which SAP NetWeaver release you are using.

    • Choose Start of the navigation path Diagnosis Next navigation step Messages Next navigation step Kernel Messages Next navigation step Current Messages End of the navigation path.

    • SAP NetWeaver 7.1: Choose Start of the navigation path Diagnosis Next navigation step Kernel Messages Next navigation step Current End of the navigation path.

Result

The system displays the current log (kernel log knldiag).

You can use the navigation help (Start of File, End of File, Start of Write Cycle, Current Write Position) for orientation within the message files.

Choose Import File to update the output.
