Connecting to TSM

Use

SAP MaxDB supports the use of the TSM backup tool from IBM/Tivoli for backing up, restoring, importing, and exporting data. Before you can use the TSM backup tool you must configure the SAP MaxDB software using the TSM client adint2.

The adint2 program is not contained in a standard installation of the TSM client. The program is provided separately by IBM. For more information, see http://www.ibm.com Information published on non-SAP site .

Prerequisites

You have installed the TSM client adint2.

The version of your SAP MaxDB database system is 7.5 or higher.

Procedure

Set the environment variables ADINT and ADA_OPT.
If necessary, set the tool-independent environment variables for Database Manager.
