You use the Metadata Repository as a central point of access to information about the metadata objects of SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse. This metadata includes important object properties and their relationships with other objects.
Metadata Display in the BW System
There are two different ways of displaying the metadata for an object:
Choose (Find) to enter a text query and search for the metadata for specific objects.
The data is displayed using the standard web browser. If you use the browser's search function (CTRL + F), only the results for the current HTML page are displayed.
The metadata repository prepares the metadata for an object as follows:
The system displays the following information in the Description area: type, technical name, description (short and long), object version, last changed by, last changed, Content version, Content change.
Under Documents, you can see the documents created for the object.
Under Objects in Environment, you can see the following tab pages:

Metadata Display in the Web Browser
By calling a Web service, you can view your BW system's metadata in the web browser on any client. The procedure for finding the required URL parameters corresponds to the procedure described under Web Services and ICF Services in BW .
Note the following features:
As import parameter I_HANDLERCLASS, enter the Web Dynpro class: CL_WDR_MAIN_TASK.
Take the export parameters E_URL_PREFIX and E_URL_PATH and add the name of the service /sap/rso_metadata_repository.
If you do not have single sign-on, you will have to log on to both the BW system and the web browser.
