Use

With this command you start the service kernel corresponding to the database software version, and open a database session.

The service kernel is a specially configured database without a data set of its own. You can use it to perform services for other databases, such as checking a backup (see recover_check) or restoring a parameter file from a data backup (see recover_config).

Prerequisites

  • You have the server permission Backup.

  • You are working in the script or session mode.
