You can use the light room directory in addition to the standard room directory to display your own rooms in the portal in a high-performance and simple manner.
Technical Features
The light room directory is a static HTML page that the system stores in the userhome directory of the KM repository in the form of a hidden file. The light room directory is only updated when you rebuild the HTML page or change the member status of users.
Using the light room directory reduces the load on the TREX server.
Configuration
Below are the requirements for using the light room directory:
This setting causes the light room directory to open when a user calls the room directory.
If you permit personalization, users can use the menu to switch the light room directory on and off.
The graphic below shows the light room directory and the options available there.
Activate the Light Room Directory in the Portal
Permit the Light Version, Personalization, and Tab Page Layout for the Room Directory
If you are using multiple standard room directories with different filter assignments, you may only permit the use of the light room directory for one of your standard room directories (because the light room directory is saved as a single HTML page).
Only allow personalization if the light room directory is permitted for the standard room directory. Otherwise, this option would be confusing, since the system would only be able to display the standard room directory anyway.
If personalization is permitted, users can use the Personalize link in the options menu of the room directory to switch between the (newer) tab page layout and the layout with links to the tab pages for the room directory.
This layout change refers only to the header area of the light room directory. It means that either the My Rooms tab page is displayed or the three links to tab pages are displayed as in the footer area.
