How can I quickly find system information?

If you want to see details about your SAP NetWeaver, go to System: <system_name> . The link displays the System Info application which provides you with the relevant details.

How can I easily find the application I need?

If you are not sure which work set contains the application you need, use the following ways:

• Go to the Search field.

  You can enter only part of the application name with or without accessory symbols.

• Go to Site Map . Find the relevant application and choose its link to open it.

• If you have already used this application in the current session, use the History option or choose  My Workspace   Recently Used .

How can I create a list of favorite applications?

To set an application as a favorite, proceed as following:

1. Choose  My Workspace  Manage Favorites .

2. From the Available table column, select the application you need and choose .

3. If you want to remove an application from your Favorites , select the row from the Selected column and choose .

   Note

   If you want to remove all applications from Favorites , choose the button.

How can I quickly access documentation for a particular tool?

Each application in SAP NetWeaver Administrator has its own integrated help. To find particular documentation, open the relevant application and choose the Help link.

This link directs you to the respective online page on SAP Help Portal (default location).

How can I change the default help location?

If you want your links to direct not to the default SAP Help Portal URL, but to another online/offline SAP documentation repository, proceed as follows:

1. Open the Java System Properties tool.

2. Choose the Applications tab and in the Name filter field, enter " mainframe ".

3. Select the application tc~lm~itsam~ui~mainframe~wd .

4. In the Properties pane, choose the HELP_PATH property and then choose Modify .

5. Enter the required help directory/URL:

   • Template for a local help directory:

     <SAP install dir>\usr\sap\<system name>\<instance number>\j2ee\<SAP NW documentation package>

   • Template for an SAP help URL:

     http://help.sap.com/saphelp_<alias>/helpdata/en/

6. Choose Set .

7. Choose Save and then refresh the page.

How can I use a specific role profile?

If you do not need to use all the available applications in SAP NetWeaver Administrator, you can choose a specific tool set corresponding to your role. To do that, choose the relevant one from Active profile: < profile_name >. The following profiles are available:

• Complete List

• Java Developer

• Development Support

• SOA Appl and Scenario Admin

• SOA Technical Admin

• BPM Technical Admin

• BPM Business Admin

How can I configure the framework of my SAP NetWeaver Administrator?

The Personalize menu (on a work center/work set level) provides you with the following options:

• To set the current work set as a default start page, choose  Personalize   My Entry Page  Set Current As Entry Page .

  To reset to the default one, choose Set Default As Entry Page .

• If you want to open your applications in a new browser window/tab, choose  Personalize   Window Handling   Open Applications in New Window .

  Otherwise, choose Open Applications in Current Window .

How can I set the time zone I need?

You are allowed to set different kinds of time zones according to your needs.

• To set the time zone of your current working system, choose  Personalize   Time Zone   System Time Zone .

• To set the time zone of the logged-on AS Java user, choose  Personalize   Time Zone   User Time Zone .

• To set a specific area time zone, choose  Personalize   Time Zone   Custom Time Zone .

  From the table displayed, select the area you need and choose OK .

How can I see support details about the current application?

Open the relevant application and choose the Support Info link. It provides you with the following details:

• Customer support component

• Development component

• URL of the application in SAP NetWeaver Administrator

How can I jump to related applications/tasks?

If you perform a task in an application and then you want to perform related tasks in another application, use the Related Links option. The other application is opened in a new browser window/tab using the same SAP NetWeaver Administrator session.

How can I make the configuration changes persistent?

You are not expected to perform any activities for making your changes persistent. When you configure a GUI item in SAP NetWeaver Administrator (for example, you modify a table column (in pixels) or change the number of the table rows), the relevant configuration change automatically becomes persistent.
